Welcome to the website of the Roze Blok Delft, the gay sports association of Delft and its surroundings. Our goal is to offer the possibility to gay men, lesbians and all others interested, to play sports together and to get to know new friends. The Roze Blok started in 1989 as a gay volleyball association. In 2003 badminton was added as a second sport. Tennis was added in 2006, and is now is an important member in the Roze Blok family of sports. Through new members joining every year and starting with tennis as an additional sport, the Roze Blok has grown to about 60 members. The association consists of people from different age groups and having different levels of play.

At the Roze Blok you can take part in weekly training sessions, join in different competitions representing the Roze Blok (depending on the sport), and upon your own initiative visit tournaments with other members in the Netherlands and/or abroad. Some of the cities that our members have visited over the last few years include: Utrecht, Nijmegen, Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, Munich, Düsseldorf, Milan, Sydney, Chicago and Montreal. At this very moment plans are being made to visit other tournaments in various cities.

Besides taking part in tournaments and playing in competitions, the Roze Blok organizes its own tournaments for all three sports every year. The international beach volleyball tournament in ’s-Gravensande is by now a well known event both locally as well as abroad. The previous occasions consisted of, among other things, a weekend of camping, a warm welcome to all participants on the Friday evening, breakfast, the tournament itself during the day, lunch, a BBQ, a party for participants and visitors, and a brunch on Sunday. Every year several hundred participants and guests take part. The combined badminton-tennis tournament is a recent fast growing event that entirely takes place in Delft. Regarding this event, every year more and more people from the Netherlands and abroad participate.
